AN ANTONIO – Some of the city’s top candidates in the run for mayor and city council took part in a forum Saturday morning.
It was hosted by the Northeast Bexar County Democrats.
Despite the name, the forum was organized for select candidates on both sides of the political spectrum to answer questions from their constituents.
Those who attended say it’s a great opportunity to engage with the candidates and also to educate oneself as a voter.
“If you’re not willing to go out there and if you’re not willing to make your opinion known, someone else will. You not voting or you not getting involved is voting for something that you may not really want,” says UTSA student Chris Stewart.
NEBCD says they chose the candidates based on their competitiveness and impact on the city’s northeast sector. The political club has hosted similar non-partisan forums with Texas State and local candidates for more than decade.
