Valley’s chief Democrat says contested convention unlikely

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Now the Democrats are the only party left with two candidates still fighting to be the next nominee. Mahoning County’s Democratic Party chairman weighs in on what this means for the convention.

What a difference a day makes.

“As far as the campaign, I’m making decisions right now but probably will work with the Republican National Committee, raise a lot of money and go out
and beat Hillary,” explained Donald Trump to NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt.

Republicans have been talking about a possible open convention to decide the GOP’s nominee but that all changed Wednesday, when Donald Trump became the presumptive nominee after Ted Cruz and John Kasich bowed out.

Democrats are the ones hanging on with a contested race, although Hillary Clinton is likely to win.

“I think that while the path is narrow and I do not deny that for a moment. I think we can pull off one of the great political upsets in the history of the United States,” Bernie Sanders stated in his victory speech after winning Indiana Tuesday. For the full article click here
